Went in there for a drink for the first time yesterday afternoon. Was a nice pub. The staff were polite and engaged in conversation. Loved the music and it was a great place to have a drink and a chat with your friends. Will go back next time i am in town :).

Absolutely awesome place. I'm used to metal bars being sweaty and sticky and stinking of piss. But this adds a nice change. Done up nice with rock and metal roots still there. Love to come down and play a gig here some time. 5 star

I go here a lot it's a great atmosphere and awesome tunes mixture of metal subgenres so something for everyone and it's a great place to meet metal friends :) \m/

I love this bar! The drinks are nice, the beer is clean, its all super reasonably priced too! The staff are lovely, the atmosphere is friendly, and the music is great. Plus a real rarity for a rock bar, the loos are nice and the floor isn't sticky!!

Great place for a meet up.. Music great. Bar staff lovely and have enough room for a large crowd to have fun. Dj played lots of our requests and we all had a good rock out on and off the dance floor. ������

I did a charity event there yesterday and all of the staff are amazing.
So kind and generous and extremely friendly.
A friend of ours on the Friday night had to sad family news and Ashley (manageress) heard.
Consoled them and gave them a free glass of whisky just to cheer them up.
They also had a slight gas issue for their taps (no fault of their own) before opening yesterday and Leigh (owner) really pulled it out of the bag before they opened.
I was very amazed with his generosity and his very friendly approach.
Mez (events manager) a true professional with everything he did held the fort superbly.
The door staff too so calm and collected with everything they did.
Had so much fun with them they were very professional and friendly.
And all of the bar staff very down to earth and efficient despite how busy they were by the end of the night they did it all with professionalism and efficiency.
I don't know how they coped with such efficiency and friendliness.

Great bar for metalheads. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and music for everyone's tastes. Not an ideal set up for gigs but considering the restricted lay out they do ok. Will be much better when the proposed upstairs room is opened

Love this place! The staff are so lovely, they really make the place. The atmosphere is great, I always feel safe and comfortable. Love the music and the drinks prices are great too.

Been to the Hammer only 4 times but have to say whenever I am in Brum I'll go back.
Bouncers and barstaff are real sweethearts and make you feel very welcome. Thank you all for making my 4 nights out there fabulous!
Hammer you lost a star in my rating for not restocking white Sambuca at the bar for my Saturday there after I finished it all on the Friday! lol

This place is rockin. Great crowd, great beer and awesome music.
Basically a cleaner version of Costers, for those old farts amongst us who remember that much loved old shithole. Good selection behind the bar, decent music (I do like the odd bit of Sabaton when I've had a few), and the barstaff are sound. Need to remember to pop in more often!
